Terms and conditions

Last updated: 13-10-2026

These terms apply to all services by Rene IJnema: WordPress and WooCommerce maintenance, hosting, VPS, domain names, email, development and help on credit. They are deliberately short and written in plain language.

1. Who we are

Rene IJnema ("I", "me") provides the services on reneijnema.nl. You can reach me at hello@reneijnema.nl. "You" or "client" is the person or company using a service.

2. Offer and agreement

Prices and plans on the website are without obligation. An agreement is made as soon as you order a service or accept a quote in writing or by email, and I confirm it.

For custom work and bigger projects I make a quote upfront with a fixed price or an estimate in hours. Anything not in it is not included.

3. Prices and payment

All prices are in euro. No VAT applies.

Subscriptions (maintenance, hosting, email and add-ons) are paid upfront per month. Domain names and certificates are paid upfront per year. Credit for help by the quarter hour is paid upfront. Invoices are due within 14 days.

If you do not pay on time, I first send a reminder. If payment still does not follow, I may suspend the service until it is paid.

Prices can change. I announce a price increase for a running subscription at least 30 days in advance; you may then cancel as of the start date.

4. Credit by the quarter hour

Credit is bought from 10 hours (40 credits of 15 minutes). For every job I tell you upfront how many credits it takes and only start after your approval. Credit stays valid for 12 months after purchase. Unused credit is not refunded, unless I discontinue a service myself.

5. Term and cancellation

Subscriptions run per month and renew automatically. You can cancel at any time as of the end of the current month, via hello@reneijnema.nl or your account.

Domain names renew automatically per year. You can cancel up to 30 days before the renewal date. When you cancel or transfer, I cooperate and give you the transfer code.

After hosting ends I keep your data for 14 more days, so you can collect it. After that it is deleted.

6. What I expect from you

You provide correct contact details, the access I need, and use the services decently. Not allowed are, among other things:

  • illegal content or content that infringes the rights of others
  • spam, phishing, malware or attacking other systems
  • use that seriously burdens the server or other clients

7. Availability, maintenance and backups

I do my best to keep your site and services as available as possible, and keep to the uptime that comes with your plan. Planned maintenance is done outside office hours as much as possible and announced in advance if noticeable.

I make backups as described for your plan. Also keep your own copy of whatever is essential to you.

8. Intellectual property

Custom work I make for you, such as code, themes and plugins, becomes yours once it is paid for. Parts under an open source licence (such as WordPress and the GPL) stay under that licence. I may use general knowledge and reusable bits of code that contain no confidential information for others too.

9. Liability

I work carefully, but mistakes can never be ruled out completely. My liability is limited to direct damage and to the amount you paid me for the service concerned in the three months before the damage.

I am not liable for indirect damage, such as lost revenue or profit, or for damage caused by third-party services (such as plugins, payment providers or registries). These limits do not apply in case of intent or gross negligence.

10. Force majeure

In case of force majeure, such as outages at data centres, networks or suppliers, large-scale attacks or illness, I do not have to meet my obligations for the time being. If it lasts longer than 30 days, either of us may end the agreement.

11. Privacy and confidentiality

I treat everything I see of your site, your business and your customers as confidential. How I handle personal data is in the privacy policy. Where I process personal data on your behalf, as with hosting, we make a data processing agreement on request.

12. Changes and governing law

I may change these terms. I announce important changes at least 30 days in advance by email.

Dutch law applies to these terms and all agreements. If we cannot resolve something together, the competent court in Amsterdam has jurisdiction, unless the law requires otherwise.
